On Saturday, August 6 at about 8:15 A.M., a resident called 911 to report hearing shots being fired in the 50 block of 11th Street. When officers arrived, they were assisted by multiple people who directed officers to a house in which the gunfire had been coming from. Soledad Police Department, King City Police Department, and deputies of the Monterey County Sheriff's Office responded to assist. In the home were two occupants, 28-year-old Christopher Rosales of King City, and a 36-year-old Woman. Officers observed multiple spent casings in the home along with several bullet defects (holes) in the ceiling. Detectives of the South Monterey County Task Force arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Detectives wrote a search warrant for the residence, conducted interviews of the detained individuals, spoke with neighbors, witnesses, and viewed home security camera footage.
