Big Week Bull Riding Returns to the California Rodeo Salinas July 16 with Top Talent and High-Energy Action!

 

SALINAS, CA- Get ready for an adrenaline-charged night at the 2025 Big Week Bull Riding, presented by Salinas Valley Ford, as the PRCA’s Xtreme Bulls Tour storms into the Salinas Sports Complex on Wednesday, July 16.


This high-octane event will showcase some of the best bull riders in the world, including top contenders from the PRCA RAM World Standings and elite qualifiers from Xtreme Bulls events across the country.


Gates open at 5:00 PM, with the action starting at 7:00 PM.


Among this year’s standout riders are seven of the top ten in the standings:

    New this year: Free off-site parking at 1440 Constitution Blvd, with shuttles every 15 minutes from 4:30 to 11:00 PM

    On-site parking: $30 per vehicle via N. Main Street or Maryal Drive

    Lots open at 4:00 PM. Exact change is appreciated, but credit cards are accepted at all entrances.

The 115th California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 17–20, 2025. As a not-for-profit organization, the California Rodeo Association is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the California Rodeo Salinas and the Western way of life while fostering community involvement and cultural heritage. Through its annual Rodeo and year-round operations at the Salinas Sports Complex, the Association supports local nonprofits and community groups. In 2024, these efforts generated over $796,000 for local organizations.

Attempted Homicide Shooting Incident in King City on September 29

  The King City Police Department received a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 600 block of Sycamore Street at around 1 am on Sunday, September 29. While enroute, the King City PD was advised that 2 victims were transported to Mee Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.   Upon arrival, officers were told that a single unknown suspect opened the gate to a fenced yard and fired 10 rounds into a crowd attending a party. 2 individuals were struck by the gunfire, after-which the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. The 2 victims are a 16-year-old juvenile male who was shot 3 times and an 18-year-old male who was shot 1 time.  Both victims were transported to Natividad Hospital from Mee Memorial and are currently listed in stable condition. 3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision.
