City of King Fireworks Regulations

The City of King would like to remind everyone in the community of the City’s fireworks regulations.  Fireworks may only be discharged from 12 pm on June 28 through 10 pm on July 4. Only safe and sane fireworks purchased from permitted fireworks stands are allowed.  All other fireworks are prohibited at all times.  Illegal fireworks can cause injury, fires, and disturbance to residents and animals.

As a result of concerns received from the community, the City Council increased fines for the illegal discharge of fireworks in 2019.  The fine for a fireworks related violation is now $1,000 per violation.  The King City Police Department is actively patrolling and enforcing these violations.  Anyone with information on persons and/or locations discharging illegal fireworks is encouraged to contact Police Dispatch at 831-385-8311.

The City of King requests everyone to celebrate July 4th in a safe manner, follow City restrictions, and be respectful of others.  You may contact City Hall at 831-385-3281 or visit the City’s website at www.kingcity.com for information on the City’s Fireworks Ordinance.
