UPDATE: Arrests made in Homicide outside of King City



According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office 2 people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that killed 1 person outside of King City on Wednesday morning at 5:30 am. The incident occurred on the 52000 block of Oasis Road killing 42-year-old Benito Canales-Godinez. 27-year-old Ubaldo Martinez and 25-year-old Imeldo Merino, both in their 20s from Greenfield were named as suspects and were both arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail sometime on Wednesday night, July 31. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office is investigating this shooting incident as a homicide. The Sheriff's Office served two search warrants and also recovered a gun. In addition, there reports from the King City Police Department that the incident is not gang related and that they don't know right now what the motive for the shooting was. Martinez and Merino are also going to be charged with three drive-by shootings that took place in Greenfield in May of 2019. Anyone with further information is encouraged to call Det. 3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision.

Greenfield Man Arrested for November 26 Attempted Murder Incident in King City

  On November 26, 2024, at approximately 4:05 PM, officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been shot multiple times and was transported by family members to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Through investigation, detectives identified a possible suspect vehicle. A subject associated to that vehicle was contacted and later arrested for his involvement in the shooting. He is identified as 20-year-old Adrian Justo of Greenfield. Justo was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder.
