Road & Lane Closures for Monterey County

The Transportation Agency for Monterey County reports that there will be more major scheduled road and lane closures in Monterey County taking place from Sunday, March 24 through Saturday, March 30.

Highway 68 – Salinas River: March 25 – March 29
There will be alternating lane and ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Spreckles Blvd and Reservation Road for bridge work. The work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 68 – Salinas River: March 24 – March 29
There will be alternating night-time lane and on ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Spreckles Blvd and Reservation Road for bridge work. The work will occur from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Highway 101: Camp Roberts – San Luis Obispo County Line: March 26
A moving lane closure will occur on Highway 101 between Camp Roberts and the San Luis Obispo County Line for striping operations taking place on Tuesday, March 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Highway 101: San Ardo – San Luis Obispo County Line: March 28
A moving lane closure will occur on Highway 101 between San Ardo and the San Luis Obispo County Line for vegetation spraying on Thursday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Highway 101: Bradley – King City: March 24 - March 29 
Various nighttime ramp and lane closures will occur until Friday, March 29 along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Bradley and King City for sign work during the evening from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision. 

Greenfield Man Arrested for November 26 Attempted Murder Incident in King City

  On November 26, 2024, at approximately 4:05 PM, officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been shot multiple times and was transported by family members to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Through investigation, detectives identified a possible suspect vehicle. A subject associated to that vehicle was contacted and later arrested for his involvement in the shooting. He is identified as 20-year-old Adrian Justo of Greenfield. Justo was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder. There is no additional information at this time and the investigation is on-going.
