Concession Contract Award at Pinnacles Natl. Park

On Tuesday, March 12, the National Park Service (NPS) announced the selection of Pinnacles Recreation Company to operate a campground and store at Pinnacles National Park. The concession contract was awarded through a competitive selection process. This commercial operation will provide a significant recreational opportunity for visitors at Pinnacles National Park, and is critical to providing a positive visitor experience. The Pinnacles campground is a 50 acre, 137 site campground with 81 tent sites, 37 RV sites, and 14 group sites. The contract includes the operation of a campground store.
“The staff and partners at Pinnacles National Park are excited to welcome Pinnacles Recreation Company to central California” said Acting Superintendent Lisa McInnis. “We look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our visitors through innovative, environmentally sensitive, and high quality commercial services.” 
Pinnacles Recreation Company is a newly founded California company, and this is its first concession contract with the NPS. “We are honored to be selected to operate at Pinnacles National Park. We look forward to working closely with the NPS to implement some exciting new sustainability initiatives and to focus on improving the visitor experience at the Pinnacles campground and store” said Grant Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacles Recreation Company.

3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision. 

Greenfield Man Arrested for November 26 Attempted Murder Incident in King City

  On November 26, 2024, at approximately 4:05 PM, officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been shot multiple times and was transported by family members to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Through investigation, detectives identified a possible suspect vehicle. A subject associated to that vehicle was contacted and later arrested for his involvement in the shooting. He is identified as 20-year-old Adrian Justo of Greenfield. Justo was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder. There is no additional information at this time and the investigation is on-going.
