Voters in Gonzales
could vote to re-up the soon-to-sunset-Measure K. The Measure K Oversight Committee meets in
special session today to discuss allowing the city council to put a half
percent Transaction and Use Tax on the November 2018 ballot. If it makes the ballot and the electorate
approves it at the ballot box, it would bring that tax to a full percent. If it passes, it would also eliminate the
10-year Sunset Provision of the current Measure K. The committee has to recommend that the city
council put it on the November ballot so Gonzales voters can vote it up or
down.
